About Us
The Marxist Reading Group (MRG) is an opportunity for socialists and socialist-curious folks of all stripes to come together and read important socialist texts that is maybe a step above Marxism 101. We learn from these texts, discuss them, see how their lessons apply to our time and our context, and how that can inform our organizing work going forward.
About our work
Although all schools of thought are invited, the MRG gets its name from our intent to view our reading through a Marxist lens, that being a historical materialist one. The MRG engages in 7-10 text discussions per year, presentations to the Chapter when applicable, and provides a platform within the chapter for group and guided learning.
