About Us
We Keep Us Safe is a DSA North Texas member-run working group formed as a response to the looming threat of a Cop City being built in Dallas, AKA the new police training facility to be built in South Dallas. Our group helped to establish the larger Dallas Stop Cop City Coalition in 2024.
About the campaign
Our work is split between helping the coalition stop Dallas’ cop city and work on our own for the advancement of socialism and the abolition of police. Within the coalition, we help plan events such as canvassing and town halls, as well as collecting research. We also host our own events and work on our own projects such as zine making, brake light clinics, and community block parties.
Our goals are to educate the public about Dallas’ Cop City, pressure City Council to limit funding for the training facility that comes from municipal budgets, and foster community within South Dallas to create a voice the city cannot ignore.
